With the COVID crisis highlighting the need for community resilience, we believe it is a critical time to bring this same collection of diverse stakeholders together (virtually, of course) to continue the conversation about how energy, sustainability, and technology can create a better future for Highland Park and the world.

ESTF 2020 is possible thanks to the generous support of the Ford Foundation, Vote Solar, GLREA, Soulardarity, Modern Tribe Communications, Parker Village, CSHP, Empower Mi, and Michigan Saves.

Building on the success of the 2018 Energy Sustainability & Tech Fair, Soulardarity and Parker Village are hosting a virtual 2020 ESTF.
The first event of it’s kind in Highland Park, ESTF 2018 brought together technical experts, industry professionals, community members, and organizers to learn from each other and take productive steps towards a clean energy future. The presenters brought together a wide variety of topics related to energy — from practical sessions on the basics of solar energy and financing for clean energy and efficiency, to technology solutions for electric vehicles and sustainable wastewater treatment, to community organizing, to mitigating the impacts of air pollution.

The virtual event will be organized as an interactive webinar, using the themes of Soulardarity’s
Blueprint For Energy Democracy to weave 6 panels on different topics into an overarching narrative about the applications of these themes to the Highland Park context. We are planning for a two hour agenda, with an introduction by Parker Village and Soulardarity, short sessions broken up by art and/or messages from sponsors, with a Q&A at the end with a selected panel from the presenters. Throughout the event, there will be engagement opportunities through social media, the zoom platform, and potentially phone and text for participants to discuss and engage with content and presenters. The event will be streamed concurrently through zoom, social media platforms, and on the radio.
Special offerings before and after the event may include virtual tours of local projects, discussion groups and deeper dives with panelists, and more.

RSVP to stay in the loop!
